June Anderson
INTRODUCTION
Biography of June Anderson June’s Background and Journey to Well-being June’s life journey toward health and well-being has been deeply shaped by her experiences, challenges, and spiritual growth. The Early Years Starting as a teenager in the 1960s, she was driven by the desire to be fit and healthy, often trying extreme and unsustainable diets. Over time, this yo-yo dieting and focus on physical health overshadowed the importance of emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being. Having trained as a high school teacher in South Africa, June spent over 40 years in formal education – the last 27 years of which were spent in a wonderful, Kingdom-based Christian school in Pretoria, South Africa. Here she had the opportunity to research and adopt a more balanced approach to health, the principles of which she taught and modeled to the students and staff of the school, as well as her own family. Personal Struggles and Loss During her time at the school, June suffered the tragic loss of her son, and other family separations. She coped with this grief by overworking and found healing through the supportive work environment of the school that emphasized love, honour, respect and servant leadership. The love she experienced helped restore her emotional and spiritual well-being. She reflects that it was such a happy, fruitful time of experiencing the righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit of Kingdom of God – in action! Health Crisis and Miracle After retiring from her career in formal education and moving into ministry and voluntary service in under privileged sectors of her circle of influence, June reflects on how her lack of personal boundaries and her vulnerability as a people-pleaser, led her into an unhealthy situation. Failing to prioritize her own well-being, she experienced the cumulative toll of emotional, psychological, and relational stress on her health. Unaware of the profound interconnection between body, soul, and spirit, she continued overexerting herself in this stressful environment, focusing on diet, exercise, and tangible accomplishments, while neglecting the essential need for the care of the soul, the spirit that ultimately led to further health challenges and ultimately, to a diagnosis of Stage 3 lymphoma. June’s diagnosis of lymphoma was a turning point in her life. The aggressive cancer, which had spread extensively, tested her resilience. With her husband’s unwavering care and prayers from loved ones, she navigated chemotherapy and the emotional challenges of hair loss, and physical and mental decline. During a shopping trip in May 2020, she experienced a miraculous, instantaneous healing. Her pain and swelling of her vital organs in her distended abdomen disappeared, her strength and cognitive function of her brain returned in a second. She immediately resumed activities she had been unable to perform for weeks. Reflections on Well-being and Purpose This moment, in retrospect, marked a profound shift in her understanding of the inter-connectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual health and the need to embrace a multi-dimensional approach to health. This included a renewed focus on stewardship of body, soul, and spirit, as well as the intentional fulfillment of God-given purpose. A Practical Application Towards the end of 2022, June was invited to create a health course for the Kingdom University. She asked God to bring the content that He endorsed, across her path, from two or more different reliable sources. She undertook to apply and live out in her own life, whatever she learnt that was endorsed by God. She even tested some of these principles on her trustworthy friends. She thought this would take her about three or four months to collate. Little did she know that her research would take over two years and take her way beyond a mere physical health course. God is faithful. He never failed to confirm what He wanted her to include in the course, by at least two or three witnesses. What she learnt surprised and amazed her, as she discovered God was doing a deep work within her from the inside out, and calling her into a deeper intimacy with Him that she never imagined possible. This was the crux of fulfilling one’s Kingdom purpose, and a key to walking in divine health. Scientific evidence confirmed the fact that overall health extends beyond physical fitness to encompass a deep connection with God and others, and validated her new approach to health and well-being. A Mountain to Move But June had another mountain to move before God would release her into the wellness ministry – that of Osteoarthritis – a heredity disease, which came upon her suddenly in the middle of 2024, in the form of debilitating pain, swelling and inflammation in her all her joints. Declining conventional medication, she adopted a rigorous regimen involving exercise, grounding, and an anti-inflammatory diet. Her consistent efforts paid off, as she overcame about 95% of the symptoms of this condition and is maintaining these wellness practices to date.
